In addition, we have constructed seven church buildings, equipped and trained pastors, provided motorcycles to support new ministry leaders, and distributed Bibles and emergency food assistance to persecuted believers.
At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to children living in ultra-poor slum communities. Through focused academic support and foundational education, we equip these children with the skills necessary to successfully enter the government school system—opening doors that would otherwise remain closed. Without this intervention, many would face a future constrained by illiteracy and ongoing poverty.
Hope Ascending operates as a fully volunteer-driven organization, with no staff receiving financial compensation. This model ensures that every contribution is directed toward mission impact, directly benefiting children and families in some of the most underserved regions of India.

What we do – In a Nutshell
This is our eleventh year working with children in an Indian slum. We have a school that accommodates up to 250 students. The idea is to teach them academic subjects so that they can test into the government educational system. We have been very successful. Two of our teachers attended, went onto school, college, and are now back teaching with us! A monthly donation of just $50 pays the tuition for one student, including their books, and uniform. Put a smile on an new student’s face. You can’t imagine the joy when one of these first-generation students puts on a school uniform for the first time! God bless you.
